This may be old news to some but I noticed something different at the Whole Foods checkout stand last week. My local Whole Foods no longer offers plastic bags as an option and apparently the company is phasing out plastic bags nation-wide. Instead, the company encourages use of re-usable bags or offers 100% recycled paper bags. Whole Foods is, of course, not the be all end all of green companies but it is nice to finally see a "green" company like Whole Foods putting their money where their mouths, or their bags, are.
Just to let them know I supported the change, I shot off a quick email using this handy dandy form. I also mentioned that I look forward to changes concerning plastic produce bags and an increase in bulk selections. :) It is important to give positive feedback, and, of course, never hurts to ask for more.

thanks for the handy dandy form!
I just popped off mail to my local whole foods.
ps I love whole foods.
You go girl! The more people who speak up - to Whole Foods and then to other stores - about banning plastic, the quicker we'll see it happen. Give yourself a pat on the back. :)
